my water is pretty cloudy after i added the sand. so do i just need to let it settle without my filter on or keep my filter on or what?

Do you have fish in the tank?

No I don't. I just added sand while water was in it, I think that was probably the problem, I was just figuring that it would settle. But I just took out like 80% of the water and I'm not sure if I should fill the tank back up.

Since you have no fish in the tank it would be best to leave the filter off and let the sand settle. The sand can damage filter and clog your filter media. I don't know how long it will take to settle as different sand types settle at different paces.

So I should just fill up the tank again just so it won't have to settle twice?

How do I get rid of the bubbles formed under the sand?
