Decided I didn`t like the rock layout , I wanted a more natural effect and wanted to add some more plants for colour and a contrast.

Let me know your thoughts Good or Bad. or any advice.

I'll I bought was a plec, and some food, and dechlorinator lol... :fun:

buts its been on and off, the weather :D

Rockscape background would go very well with that i reckon....

Thats it im redoing mine when i get back I WILL get some green in there need to take it all out anyway time for a bit of thinning out have about 25 in a 55g ( alot of juvies waiting to be sexed )

Thanks for the comments.

If I had a 3D/Structured background it would be a back to nature one but I can`t afford so I`m sticking with my plain black!

I think it will look better once the algae grows back on the rocks the only thing will be keeping it off the plants !

Thats an amazing African Cichlid tank, how are all the plants holding up???
So far so good Ginge, It`s a bit of an experiment I`m going to try and do a weekly update on the plants to see there progress and hopefully not there decline.

Nice bit of restructuring Nick. It does look far more natural and it makes the tank more balanced, I think!!!
The Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos have been a great addition and they really do visable "pop" in the pictures.

In regards to a "rock type" background. If it was my tank I would leave it black. I think anything else would take away from the great looking fish and the internal setup.

Also I have a quick money saving suggestion for you! Like yourself I use stress coat to treat my tape water and like you I used to use the bottle with the blue measuring cap. But I found that I was going through buckets of the stuff, mainly because I got fed up of using the measuring cap and I would just pour an approximate amount into the 2 gallon buckets before I added the water.

Like this one!

I then bought one of the bottles with the pump dispense cap and it is most likely one of the best money saving inventions. I still have the same bottle for months now (I know it is larger) but you really don't waste as much and its its far less hassle. I cant recommend enough the stress coat bottle with the pump cap.

One of the best money and time saving inventions ever!!!!!!
