Has anyone any suggestions on how to re-charge nitrAte removers. My tap water this time of year has around 40ppm nitrAtes so i struggle to keep it down. I brought a nitrate remover bag to put in my external filter which worked wonders (10ppm now), but the re-charge process looked a bit of a nightmare. Dripping over a salt water solution over a period of 1 hour! I had one idea to make up a bucket of salt water and put the nitrate remover inside an old internal filter, then just run it in the bucket for an hour. Only problem is needs lots of salt to make up a bucket big enough for the filter. Any suggestions.

You in the UK have an advantage as Tetra sells a Nitrate removing tablet you place down in your sand/gravel that eats nitrates and lasts up to a year without doing anything else. I'm not sure what its called though but I know its more available in the UK than the US for some reason.

Also SeaChem's Matrix is supposed to be able to remove nitrates once established...but I have never used it so I don't know how true the claims are.

Thanks for the info Iron Man, i will try to find one of these products.
