i have also come up with a way to keep the roots of amazon swords under your substrate when re-planting. just tie them together with cotton so it forms a roll of roots and just put them under a rock or just the substrate. it's so much easier than having to wait for them to reroot themselves.

I agree. Once the plants fill out a bit you probably wouldn't need them anyway.
