Here are some photos (some of the only ones on the net, check google image search!) of my wild caught pelvicachromis signatus. They're african rift cichlids, and they're very colourful, these photos will give you a rough idea of their colour, but they won't give you the full story.
The pair
The female. That shine on her side isn't just flash, it's actually iridescent like oil in a puddle. She uses it to "shine" at the male to encourage him to mate (from what i can gather, there isn't much about these on the internet).
Female again. She's the more colourful of the pair.

And the male, hiding behind my big male Carinotetraodon salivator (also one of the first imports into the UK)
