I never thought I was a fish person...

So I won a weird shaped flower vase at my company's Christmas party (about 2 gallons) which I couldn't find a practical use for. I was thinking a gold fish, or one of those cool fighting fish thingies (which I now know are Bettas) would look cool in it. I went to a LFS and the Bettas all looked extreemly unhappy, but the fish in the tanks all seemed to be happy and active. I came home with a 30 gallon starter kit.

I have now finished cycling and fully stocking the 30 gal, upgraded the lighting, and I am now in the process of planting it. I couldn't seem to get enough, so I have now bought a 10 gallon tank for breeding wild-type Endlers, which are comming by mail.

I have spent countless hours on the internet reading about fish and aquariums in the last couple of months. This is getting expensive and time consuming, but I couldn't be happier with this hobby. I now have my eyes on a 125-long tank at the fish store, which looks like it would make a great home for some Balas...

Who knew that a stupid flower vase (which never ended up with fish in it) would end up here!

I started off with a 5G tank and now I have 7 tanks, 2 biggest being 50G and 60G, MTS takes hold BADLY sometimes..

Sounds real familiar. I bought a 29 gallon starter set for my wife for a Christmas present (neither of us knew anything about aquariums except that they were pretty). That was enough to get us hooked. Besides the 29 gallon, we now also have a 75 gallon which we are about finished stocking, a 5 gallon with a male betta (probably a couple amano shrimp by end of week) and two 2.5 gallons. One has a male betta and the other is almost finished cycling and should have another betta by the end of the week. Next on the wish list is a saltwater tank. Good luck.

I was wondering that myself but i think i figured it out. Could it be Multiple Tank Syndrome???

I caught it too......

Started with a 20G community tank, then another, then came the 55G. Our living room was finished. But alas, our poor office was soooo bare. So along came the 5G with a beautiful boy betta, then the 10G split for my 2 betta boys. But poor hubby, all these fish were mine, what about him? So along came yet another 10G community. Now we are done. For now. We are looking to move so we can get a 250G. And possibly a 150G. Yep we caught MTS, best thing that ever happened to us!

I can practically see the dollar signs in my lfs owners eyes when I walk in. As soon as she sees me she gives me at least 10% off everything because she knows I rarely drop less than $100 a trip. :fun: I love every minute of it
