Here is the only somewhat good pic I have been able to get of my Blue Ram, whaddya think, male or female?

My senior citizen, my big 'ol Pearl Gourami, he's about 5 years old. He has survived poor tank conditions and a move from Concord, New Hampshire to Bangor, Maine which is a 4.5 hour drive only to be dumped in water loaded with chlorene and chloromines (I didn't have any chems to get rid of these as at my old place the water was perfect right outta the tap).

This is a full tank shot of my 29 gallon, it looks like poo right now....I have a long way to go with it, and I mean a LLOONNGG way to go. I haven't been able to do anything with it for a few months as I have been jobless.

Love your tank - I've got a male Angel just like your first pic (had him for about 4 months) - he's now huge.

I'd say your Ram's male - but if it's tummy turns red now and then it's female - keep watching him(/her).

:good:

Thank you. I've been thinking male also. I do plan on getting him some company, I originally bought two rams and one passed away (along with 5 Cory cats I bought the same day to an unknown cause as all my water params were spot on, must've been the move). I ran into the same thing today as I woke up and found that one of my angels (the one my GF picked out) hadn't made it thru the night, this is the first time in years I have had to use a store's guarantee!

Couple more pics because I'm finally starting to figure out my poo camera.

My ram is by far my fave fish right now, I love the coloration!

erm, wouldnt you be dead if the water was perfect for a fish tank straight out the tap?

dechlor removes all the metals and stuff, well arent they the same things that makes drinkin water actually ok to do?

ive never understood the science tho so im probably wrong.

Not dead but it wouldnt be good, put it that way. I like your stripped angels how much was it for 1 of them?

Well the water wasn't PERFECT for fish outta the tap, it did have flouride and the usual stuff but nothing poisonout to the fish. But I moved up here and, without even testing for chlorine or chloromines (dumb move on my part) dumped my fish in the water as I thought it woulda been better than the 4.5 gallons of water they had been in for the last 5.5 hours(ish).

Thank you for the compliment of my angels, I love the "wild" (striped) coloration, if it were up to me I'd have a tank full of those, but the Boss wanted some that she liked. They were $5.99 a piece....which isn't too shabby!
