I never knew that....




true albino oscars are worth lots, apparently some of their owners won't part with them for four figure sums
and our 'albinos' are actually lutinos

Yeah...interesting stuff.....I was reading that over on theoscarspot

....still not too sure what denotes a pure albino O though.....

Most 'albino' Oscars we see at the lfs still have the signature orange striping pattern. In a true albino, the stripes, if it has any, will be a pinkish-redish color since the skin cannot produce the pigment needed for the orange. And of course the eyes will be of a red hue as is characteristic of all albinos

.....took a lot of self control not to buy one of these guys!!

yeh oscars and birchirs are probably the only albino looking fish I like
