I have two questions related to rams.

First one is, are gold rams the same as blue rams just with different colouring?

And my second question is, How do you sex blue rams?

Thanks everyone.

As I understand it, blue and gold rams are cousins of the same species. Not 100% sure though.
As for sexing blue rams there are a couple of things to look for. On a male the front "spike" of the dorsal fin is longer, also the end of the dorsal fin, near the tale, is pointed, on a female that end is more rounded towards the tail. Also a female will display a redish orange color on her belly during breeding. Males are a little larger than females and their fins are usually of a more exagerated length. Lastly the black spot on the males sides are solid, on a female there will usually be some "blue" speckels throughout it.
Hope this helps some.
