i posted a topic on here saying what chiclids could i put in an 105l. i was told german blue rams which is a great idea because they are georgus fish but i was just wondering how many is compatible in a 105l or maybe what other fish are compatible. Either way i'm not to fussed with just having two, i was just thinking of ideas.

thanks, luke

As with most Cichlids its one male to one female. Granted there are exceptions but as a rule 1-1.

Rams are great with other fish of the same size that arent overly aggressive. I have 2 with Peacock gobies and an Apisto etc

can i just say that i agree with what DarkEntity has to say 100%. before i found this site i use to frequent another and the stuff people stated on there about "rams do better in harems" or "keep 3 males to 1 female or "it doesn't matter who many you keep together as long as there in pairs" crap like that. i would just like to say that Tropical Fish Forums are the best and i wish i found this site sooner!

the above info is in general right, just take into account a few things
-rams are best in pairs but the can be a fickle at times, while you will probable get a couple right off, there is a chance this wont happen

as for how many in a 105L, depends on the footprint, basically one pair per square foot
this can be modified by the amount of cover provided, plants, wood rocks etc

In a 26-gal tank (that's about what that works out to be I think), I'd have 1 pair of rams, a nice group of cories (all of one kind or at least 3 each of 2 different kinds), a large group of either harlequin rasboras or rummy-nose tetras (thinking 8-10) and then maybe 5-6 hatchetfish to fill out the top.
Plant it heavily along the back and sides, add some driftwood and flat river stones (my rams love to breed on these!) and it would be a great looking tank.
JMHO! :good:

thanks fishwacher good idea, one little question though im looking to breed my rams atleast once and i heard that cories would eat there eggs is this right???

I keep my rams with all sorts of tetras, especially the neons, since they require similar water conditions.
