I was considering getting a pair of German Blue Rams when I visit the LFS today as my harlequins and neons just aren't getting along for some reason. I'd really like to keep my neons, though, so I thought I'd check and see if the rams and neons would be compatible.

My tank is in my sig, and the baby guppies are finally going to the LFS today. My neons and panda cories are all currently less than an inch long, and I have room for 28" of fish according to aquarium calculators and the LFS because of my Aquaclear 200.

How big do these rams get, anyway? I just want to know if these would be compatible in my tank.

It's in the pinned topic at the top of this thread, entitled "Aquarium Calculators." You need your tank's dimensions and it'll calculate your maximum inches of fish based on surface area. It also helps for live plants and such, and it tells you how much lighting and heating you need.

Yes, you can add 2 blue rams. They get along fine with neons. Try and get a male and a female, 2 of the same sex might get into territory squabbles in a small tank. If you get a male and a female, keep an eye on those cories. Rams are very protective and a nosy cory might get taught a hard lesson.

Awesome.. I've got a pair on hold right now, because I'm waiting until Saturday to get them. My best friend said that, since the harlequins equal the cost of one ram, I can trade the harlequins for the ram and she's going to buy me the other one as a belated birthday present. Yay! ..The cories aren't too nosy so far, one of them likes to sit behind the terra cotta pot all the time.

I'm excited now. :D
