Rams, kribs or Cockatoos?

Rightyo, 20g with 6 cories and 4 glowlights (possibly to become 3, but that problem will be sorted by the time I come to getting this). I'll also get maybe 6 danios and something else small. So, down to the title. Pros and cons-
-Rams- so far I can only get from a shop that has dirty tanks and high prices
-Kribs- I can easilly get these from a good store, plus not too expensive
-Cockatoos- Again, I can only get from the dirty shop and a pair costs more than a 15g tank

What do you think? I like all, but want one easy to breed at a later date. I have hard water.

I would go with rams (only b/c I know nothing about cockatoos - someone else may say they're fine).

In a 20g, your cories are likely to become victims of the kribs. I've got a 46g tank and my pair of kribs have decimated my cory population. I have 1 left out of 12.

My rams would defend their territory when others "invaded" but my kribs actively seek to keep all the other fish in the upper 2/3rds of the tank

It is a 20 long, right? If it's a 20 high, then I wouldn't go with any of them.

ETA - If you have hard water, you might not have success breeding any of them. In too hard water, rams will spawn but their eggs won't develop properly.

Rams or Cockatoos are fine in a 20g. Kribs might work out but generally I see people recommend at least 25g for them. You might want to rethink danios if you decide on Rams, they can be somewhat shy and may not like the constant action of the danios.

The quality of the stock you purchase is extremely important. Seek out the best you can find and don't compromise an quality for the sake of getting a fish you like. Just as importantly, don't expect the fish to compromise on it's requirements just because you want it.

Rams, shy??? Not for me, they are the stars of the show. Spawning now for the fourth time in just under 2 months. Great character!

Well, lucky me I've found a shop with gold rams They're £6.50 each, but the owner is a friend of my dad so I can get a discount Plus the tanks are very clean. Soo, do I go with them then? I won't get them yet, I need to set up my new 15 as a QT and sort out whatever disease the glowlights have.

Yup, a pair of gold rams would be great in a 20gal (preferrably a 20 long).

Right, thanks Its 24x15x12, the 15 is 'backwards' rather than tall. Is £6.50 each a good price? There will be a discount on top.
