Hi,

I have created a divide in the tank that the Rams reside in, to stop them harrassing the other fish in the tank.

I have a breeding tank, but the rams have taken up home over a peice of bog wood as you may already have read in my previous posts. I were to move the pair to another tank, is there a chance their bond will break? and I will have to start again with them?

And have I ID'ed these pair correctly IYO?

I measured these before (through the glass) and these are over 1" nearl 1.5" where as the other two females I have are only around 1".

From the pics they both look female to me.

it is hard to see the doral on the 'male', but the fin is a lot more pointed as the back than the other fish (female)
The irridescent marks over the black don't show up when it is in the tnak, like they have on the photo, but they are shown on the female in tank. Its anal-fin is much longer, as well as not having the pinkaround its breast.

anyone else have any ideas?

Yep....looks like two females to me as well.

ok what makes you say they are both female? although you can't see in this pick the "male's" third ray it higher than all the others, where as the 'famale' third ray is shorter

edit: Finally got a pick of the possible male with his dorsal up...

looks female to me, dorsal fin is not prominent enough, but ur not likely 2 no for sure until breeding season when females have pink stomaches. ive had female rams with high dorsal fins and males with short ones, so wait and c.

i think female by the heads, they both look pointed to me :/

:good:

cheers I think I'm gonna take them back then, as the guy I speak said if they aren't female n male to take them back, I may try for something else. Any suggestions on small fish that are easy to breed, that aren't cories :) or live bearers

Both females look insanly beatiful IMO. you should keep them and look for a male for them.
