If you own, or have even had a bolivian ram before, how do your eat, and what do they eat? I don't think i've seen mine eat yet, and i've had him for quite some time, he doesn't come up to the surface to eat, i'm trying to feed him flakes, and next time im at the lfs, maybe get some frozen foods or something...will they eat flakes, pellets, cichlid pellets? what? thanks.

They should eat flakes fine, though if that is the only fish in the tank or you do not have suitable dither fish, it may never feel secure enough to go to the surface to eat. I'm sure if you dropped in some frozen food it would go for it.

Also, if your fish is still relatively new to its home, it might still need some time to get used to its surroundings.

I own a pair of Bolivians and they will eat almost any aquarium food given to them. Just one thing though, they're not surface feeders. So they will not come to the surface to feed. They feed mainly on the bottom. I feed mine pellets, Frozen bloodworm, frozen daphna, frozen mysis shrimp, Frozen brine shrimp and half algae wafers
