Are the females belly always pink?

Or only when they are ready to breed?

female rams always have a pink belly

well mine did anyway, and she never laid eggs

Hi, Not sure if all female rams have pink bellies ,but mine sure does ! And She and the male which i bought from a local LFS on 12-30-04 have laid the second clutch of eggs in my 29 gal community tank . WVleo

Yer my female has got a red belly, I think she got it when she reached maturity as she's still quite small.

Oh and is it true that if a pair are on thier own they will be less inclined to eat thier eggs?
