one of my rams laid eggs on the leaf of a plant about 2days ago, just wondering what happens now,is it a case of wait and see ?

Hi,

My Rams usually spawn on a flat rock and I've mostly just left the eggs alone - this usually leads to the parents eating the eggs though.

I don't know if you keep them with other fish, but if they do hatch the chance of fry surviving with other fish around might be slim.

If you want to propagate the fry, you might want to remove the leaf from your tank and place them in a fry tank.

I've never tried this myself but from what I've read, use water from the tank in the fry tank and place an airstone near the rock/leaf to make sure there is a flow of water consistently going over the eggs - I'm not sure what kind of filtration you would use in this case though for the fry tank - maybe someone can help you with this.

a sponge filter works best in a fry tak it doesnt suck them in let me no how you are getting on are they bolivian rams there really nice fish i was thinking of getting them
