I have an electric blue ram that is diving into the sand at an angle, I just wanted to know if this is normal or not

Like most dwarf cichlids, rams (species is Mikrogeophagus ramirezi) are substrate feeders. The genus name derives from the Greek mikr [= small], geo [= earth] and phag [= eat], literally "small eartheater." Mouthfuls of the substrate are taken up, food is sifted out, and the substrate sand then either spit out or sometimes expelled through the gills.

This is likely what you are seeing.

My ram does do that but it’s not what I’m seeing he is physically diving into the sand

A video would be great. If the video is too long for this website post a YouTube video and give us the link :)
