Ram Death

My male ram died this morning, i am treating the tank with melafix due to fungus growing on my female rams head, that seems to be clearing up. But my male just started acting really ill yesterday, he was lying on his side at the bottom and when he swam it was erratic and uncontrolled, i couldnt see anything wrong with him physically!!!
All my water stats are fine as i know they are very susecptible to nitrites and nitrates.

I was just wondering if i bought another male for my female will they pair up or is it really hit or miss???

Rams are very sensetive to water and medications. Your Ram might have not liked the medication you were using to cure the other one. How hard is your water? Rams need soft, acidic water and without it they don't really last long and are more susceptible to diseases.
