So I've got 2 M/F pairs of German Blue Ram cichlids in a 37 gallon, along with 3 small guppies. They've been exhibiting some odd behavior. At first one of the males appeared to exert dominance over the other, and the other one seemed to lose his color and become very pale. But then later it seemed to be reversed, the other male appeared to be dominant, causing the original 'bully' to lose his color. Now, one of the females, the larger one, is acting very aggressively toward all the others, chasing them away any time they get near, and the other fish appear to be paler. She is very prominently showing her pink breeding coloration, even more so than before, would that have anything to do with it? This group hasn't been together for that long, could it be that they're just trying to get used to each other?
