Ram Advice Sought

I'm currently thinking of adding a pair of the smaller/peaceful Cichlid's to a
130L community tank - favoured option at the moment are Bolivian Rams.
The tank has a sand substrate with some rocks and bogwood and is heavily planted.

Current fish stock:
2 Dwarf Gourami (proabably adding second female in next few days)
6 Panda Corydora
3 Otocinclus
6 Amano Shrimp **



Are Bolivian Ram's (or any other cichlid) OK with these fish AND the shrimps, it's
mainly the shrimps I see as being a potential problem (and food source for the ram!)

As for stocking, I think I should be OK to add a single male and at least 1
or 2 females. (but not sure how to tell sexes apart !)

Not planning on adding Rams until I've fully investigated their suitability with
current tanks setup.

Any suggestions very welcome ......

I have a german ram, soon a female, in my 30. I was told gouramis would be fine if I had room, which I don't. It looks like you have lots of room for 2 rams, 1 male and a female. I have alot of tetras in my tank so I am at my limit or I would add 1 or 2 gouramis, maybe when I get better filtration in my tank it would work. Not sure if Bolivian Rams are the same personality as german rams but I would think this would be ok, maybe someone could help you with the compatibility.

i would have thought bolivlian rams will be ok with your fish and shrimps as for other cichlids why not look at keyholes there also a peaceful community cichlid that look cool

I'm happy enough with the tank size and the suitability of the Bolivian Rams with the other fish .....
It's really the shrimps that I'm not sure of.

Along with my Oto's they do a fantastic job of keeping the algae under control and I dont really want to turn them into a food source !!

Hmmmm ...... decisions, decisions !
