My guppy gave birth last night and I didn't think it was going to happen for another 2 weeks... Now I got :S 18?? I'm going to transfer them to a plastic storage bin(Is this okay?) thats about 4 gallons US and then I'll hook that up to a filter and an airstone. I woke up early this morning at like 7:00(I usually sleep in until like 12:00) because of thunder and so I grabbed some fish food that was left over and tried to crush those but it didnt work. What should there diet be(keep in mind I'm 13 and my mom doesnt like my obsession :/ so I wont be able to do stuff thats alive) How long will it be until I can split up the boys from the girls? Will they be okay while I'm on a road trip for a week(In a week)? This is going to be the only time I can keep some fry because I'm going to be getting one ram and if I keep to many guppies that will cancel the ram out...
20 gallon tank with 4 cories and 3 guppies.
I'll post pics once our cameras batteries recharge :)

I have never used a plastic bin, but I have heard of others using that.

When you say you crushed some food and it didn't work, what do you mean? If you're saying the fry didn't eat it, then that's normal for newborn fry. They may not start eating for 24-48 hours because the mum sends them out with a little layer of food surrounding them. When they are ready to eat, put some flake in a plastic baggy and crushed it for a few minutes. Try to get it as fine as possible. If you aren't able to get live foods, how about frozen? Frozen baby brine shrimp and crushed flake are what I alternate with. Fry need to be fed every few hours (in small amounts). So leaving them without food for a week will not be ok.
