What are the opinions of people here regarding the use of rainwater? Collected and filtered through activated charcoal, would that be OK to use instead of RO water?

depends on whats in the rain water. due to pollution through-out the world, your rain water maybe worse off for your tank then using tap water. collect some rain-water then test it. I bet you will find that it is no better than using tap water.

totally agree, you gotta remember that when rain comes down, especially over cities, its collecting all the particulate in the air. That includes smog and co2 etc etc.

now my question is...why would WANT to use rain water vs. RO?
