Does anyone have any success in keeping one in a smaller tank?

I have been planning to keep one in my nano which has a 10G sump and is currently teeming with pods. I don't plan on adding it for some time as was wonderinng whether I could sustain a sufficient quantity of pods with my set up and if so how long I should let the tank mature before doing so, bearing in mind that I have no plans to add any other fish that depend on the pods..

(tank has only recently finished cycling as is currently cleanup crew only)

Minimum tank size is reported to be 10g so there's no issue with the tank size. As for the food supply, all depends on what the fish will eat really. If it will only eat live pods then I think you might suffer without a refugium to replenish the levels, if it will eat frozen/flake foods then you laughing.

The diet should consist of small crustaceans, such as live and frozen brine shrimp, mysid shrimp, as well as filamentous algae - www.liveaquaria.com

I've read that them eating hair algae is a myth caused by people seeing them grabbing pods from inside the algae... might be wrong.

I have a fuge section in the sump, so fingers crossed it should be fine.

I'll keep one on the list!

They eat hair algea, They may be doing it due to pods but they nip down and pluck hair alea from a rock and do not spit it out or send it through there gills, my hectors did anyways, its the same fish with different color (the australian Rainfords goby is really bad assed). I saw it return to the same patch over and over again, like take a bite, chw, then take another, weather it gets any nutrition from the algea is another story, ti could just be cutting the algea into little bits and spreading it in its droppings thus causing more algea and more pods to eat, that sort of stuff does happen you know.
