Rainbow Shark Rubbing Rocks

oh god look at me callin em flippers lol fins is the word i was looking for, oh and no other fish have anything just the oscar ( my favourite unfortunately has to go though :( )

you maybe lucky then, but lets see the pic to make sure :)

i have 4 oscars and i love them to bits, one day when you get a bigger tank eh?

yeah definately want to try a cichlid tank when i get a big one!

Hi im kinda new to the whole aquarium thing, and had really bad advice from my local aquaric shop, who sold me a tank plus 10+ fish on the same day!. I lost a few but seem to be over it now ( has been just over a month).

Well i had my rainbow shark from the start and he was very poorly just sitting and gasping but he pulled through. However he always seems to rub himself up against the gravel, rock and bogwood. Would this still be because of poor water quality? I recently rinsed my filter (with tank water) and he seems to be rubbing a bit more. Any advice?

Also i was given bad advice with how many fish i should have and they are incompatible, but gettin on ok at the moment (few minor scuffles with silver sharks and rainbow)

I know my tank is overstocked and am saving for a sufficient sized one, i currently have a 70ltr planted tank with...

1 red tiger oscar (Peaceful so far despite reputation)
2 Angels
2 Silver sharks
1 Rainbow shark
1 Common (golden) pleco
2 Cory's (1 bronze, 1 leapord?)
3 siamese fighting fish (1 male, 2 female)
1 head + tail light tetra ( had 4 from start but 3 died, poor things all alone but seems to hang with the silvers)

I wont be able to get a bigger tank untill end of month but also would like some recomendation on what size i would need and what fish could go in there and what could be left in the 70ltr.

Sorry for so many questions but as i said am new to this and had really really bad advice as you will know by now.

You would need at least a 150 gallon to even consider keeping most of those fish. That is along with the 70 liter. A trio of 5 gallon tanks should be added to the list.

The oscar, sharks, and plec would go in the 150 gallon. Angels, corys, and remaining tetra in the 70 liter. Each betta gets a separate small tank.

If you can't swing a 150 gallon, decide what fish you really want to keep. The oscar, plec, and silver sharks are commonly known as tank busters, it should be budget busters, as they require large tanks with overfiltration.
