Rainbow Shark Died But What Was Wrong

hi there im sure you can help me to save others in my tank its 90 gal its been an ongoing plm
this sharks scales were protrouding or say it sticks out u can see the ridges ...
that is the best discription with few blood spots im sure too late to save him but what can i do to treat the tank with what and how long i planed on getting the water down to half way down for a mth and the tank mates are
4 emerald cory
1 leopard cory out of 4 left
2 6 inches plecos common
4 clown loaches
2 pearl gouramis out of 3
1 oplaine gouramis out of 3
1 paradise gouramis out of 8
so i like to clear up the tank plms b4 getting more my plan is to wait til after christmas after treating
ph is at 6.8
temp is at 78

Hi, your PH seems alittle low maybe, how often do you do water changes and what are your other stats ?

Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate

all other stats are normal and do a weekly water changes but past few mths every 2 weeks
just cause every one says every 3 weeks is suffix but i say ok fine do 2 weeks works out ok
as for ph ive been trying to get it up to 7 but used to be at 6.2 now its staying at 6.8 i will be adding crushed corals soon to get it up normal i have tufa rock in there so that prob what helping to keep it there
i just wanted to know what cuases the scales to stick out i cant remeber why

Sounds like it may be a case of Dropsy, sorry mate if this is the case that's not good news I've added a short discription of it below, hope this helps ?

Dropsy : One of the most disturbing of fish diseases, and is rarely cureable. Dropsy is an internal bacterial infection.

Symptoms: The fish's scales will stand out, making it have a pine comb look. Sometimes eyes can .blow up'.

Treatment : Use Kanamycin or Tetracycline and raise the temperature to about 80 degrees/ 30 deg C. This helps remove the fluid note this is rarly curable.

any other causes if not wow how u prefent that .. its a bad tank i got no one is safe there

I'm gussing it's something to do with your water condition ?
what are you feeding the fish, how much and how often ???
