I believe that my rainbow shark is constipated due to him floating sideways at the top of my aquarium recently. My water conditions are good and I don't see any other reason because he doesn't look deformed and yesterday he wasn't doing this. I tried to get him to eat peas by floating them on the end of a toothpick, but he won't go for them. Please help, I don't want him to die of this.

I don't know the dosage details, but I have heard Epsom Salts can be used to sort out constipation.

I've used 1 teaspoon Epsom salts per gallon dechlorinated, temperature matched water in a separate container. Dissolve (stir in) the Epsom salts, add the fish for up to 20 minutes for a 'bath.' remove fish earlier if it seems distressed by the salty water. Apparently you can use up to 3 teaspoons per gallon but I've not gone higher than 1.
