i have always told myself that if i saw one in a store i would buy it. well of course i saw them in the lfs today. they were all sold already but i will get one when they get the next shipment in (next week)
i have done searches on the internet only to find much conflicting information. some say they are from africa, some say south america, and some (like the lfs) say hawaii. all of the sources say a standard 10gal tank would be ok but it just seems too small to me. does/has anyone kept these crabs before? i owuld like some info before i buy my new friend next week. oh yeah-do they need freshwater brackish water or salt water? the lfs doenst seem to know much about them.
thanks

I think if your lfs is stupid enough to stock a living creature without having a clue how to look after you should not buy from them! They obv dont give a S*!t about them and are more concearned with £££ than providing good service!

Makes me so angry! PUNKS!!!

Give me their phone number and I will give em a large portion of my mind!

"CAN I GET AN AAAAAA-MEN TO THE LORD JEEEEEEE-SUS-AAA"!!

As a good measure I wrote a nasty email explaining how to care for bettas to that stupid company put in vases with flowers!! Good link Jac!!!

Told them that they require a 10gal tank (at least) ph 6.5-8.0 gave em the right temps and Dh!!!

Evil bas***ds!

well from a convo I had with my LFS dude, they grow to proper crab kind of size, so probable about 8inch across the top, and suggested they are fresh water.

There's 2 types of hallween crabs. The halloween hermit crab is from hawaii and grows to 2". Which one U got?
