Rainbow Cichlid Tank Mates

Hey,

I have a 28gal tank with 12 Tiger barbs 2 Indian Gouramis and a Bulldog Plec.

Will a pair of rainbow cichlids be suitable for this tank.
Any advice or alternative suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Isnt it one inch of fish per gallon or something like that. thats got to be about 20" of fish so far and the chichlids would be about the limit surely.

If you want to work to 1"/gallon you have 42" already. Fish are counted at adult sizes.

Ok rightio, how did you work that one out please. Just for future reference.

In general, the 1" per gallon rule goes out the window when it comes to Cichlids. Its just not practical.
