Hi
I was advised by a fellow fish keeper to pop a dry rabbit dropping under the roots of some sad looking plants. I have tried it several times with great success and now bury one under the roots of my bigger plants every couple of months. My plants grow very lush and green so it seems to work. Has anyone else tried this?

Ive heard this before i posted about it ages ago and was told it wasnt really that advisable as you would have to dry it out really well and hope theres no parasites or eggs in it and it would be much better to just use root tablets. I have heard of people having good results with it though.

We've used them too - they dont last long though - and in a 2ft deep tank it was a pain to keep topping them up...

I usually leave them (discreetly!) on the window sill or on top of a radiator for a few days to let them really dry. I dry a single layer on a saucer , store them in a lidded container and that lasts me ages. I do know of someone who dries them in a low oven!
