Fewer songbirds visited UK gardens this winter than last year -
with the numbers for some species at a five-year low, a survey for the RSPB suggests.

But that only suggests that birds are visiting fewer gardens, not the country in general, it says they just prefer the countryside and fields. I dont really see much of a problem, i would only be concerned if their numbers were going down in their visits to the UK as a whole.
