I recently lost my small orange/brown fantail goldfish, Benny. No clue why, tested water and all was in check (there was a bit of ammonia but not enough to kill a fish, it was under 1 ppm). Other fish are acting normal. Did a water change right after just to be on the safe side. I had him since I had fishless cycled my tank a year ago. He was the one that got me to get goldfish, I was trying to decide either between tropical or coldwater. Then I saw Benny in my favorite LFS, he came right up to the glass and was giving my finger kisses
He stayed at the store for 2 or 3 more weeks (my tank hadn't cycled yet). I named him Benny before I even brought him home! I was so happy when my tank was cycled and Benny was still at the store. He lived with his 4 other goldy friends, a bunch of danios, a few WCMM, a group of bronze cories and a weather loach. He was the smallest out of the bunch, he got enough food though, thats for sure! I'll miss him lots, and I bet his buddies will too
