I recently lost my small orange/brown fantail goldfish, Benny. No clue why, tested water and all was in check (there was a bit of ammonia but not enough to kill a fish, it was under 1 ppm). Other fish are acting normal. Did a water change right after just to be on the safe side. I had him since I had fishless cycled my tank a year ago. He was the one that got me to get goldfish, I was trying to decide either between tropical or coldwater. Then I saw Benny in my favorite LFS, he came right up to the glass and was giving my finger kisses  He stayed at the store for 2 or 3 more weeks (my tank hadn't cycled yet). I named him Benny before I even brought him home! I was so happy when my tank was cycled and Benny was still at the store. He lived with his 4 other goldy friends, a bunch of danios, a few WCMM, a group of bronze cories and a weather loach. He was the smallest out of the bunch, he got enough food though, thats for sure! I'll miss him lots, and I bet his buddies will too :-(

Sorry to hear about your loss but this is a tropical chat place you should have put this on the coldwater section.

Sorry bless him, in the photo the tummy looks weird is there alot of scales missing, R.I.P.

But this is a death and I'm not really asking anything to do with coldwater...just thought this would be the right place to put it, as nobody posts in the coldwater section anyways.

Its just the flash, actually. Plus his coloring did make it look like he was missing scales on his belly.

And thanks guys, :/
