this topic should really be in emergencies, could anyone tanke a look and post their thoughts....

Eerything is perishable, not sure how long it would take though. Haven't read through that whole thread, can you give us the quick jist? Need to do a water change but have old decholrinator? If so just leave the fresh water out for a few hours, chlorine eveporates.

Need to get it moved, the poor girls betta has swollen up, is leaking blood from the gills and won't eat and may not be able to see or smell either.
Have a look at the last page, pics on there.
I'm thinking because of the wide array of issues its probably related to water conditions rather than just one illness.
So i've said to get tank stats, add a little seachem prime and if no improvement add a general med.

Click your heels together and say wilder 3 times.
Doh... never works!

I think you're probably right, the fish doesn't look good, don't think he'll make it. So many things it's could be, a water change, test, anti bac med is probably all she can do now.

Reckon the water change'd finish him off which is why i've suggested prime. Bettas are really sensitive to water changes.
Have you ever heard of blood from the gills in relation to Hypoxia (oxygen lack?)

Bless him, if he's blind he will bump into things.
Never feed bloodworms daily they are very high in protein and cause bloating, don't feed them more than twice a week.
Did any other fish eat the bloodworms as wondering if they was a bad batch.
Epson salt to help draw the fluids out.
Is he still darting about as that can be due to parasites, bad water quality, toxins,
Wondering if there was something nasty in the bloodworms.

The girls original post explains a little better link
No she keeps the betta on its own or so it appears, do you mind if i pinch your reply and quote it on the thread?
Also i doubt she has epsom can she use good quality salt (not table, rock) for the same process, a water bath? will have to go into detail....
Cheers :good:

Read the other thread..
That fish will not make it sorry its in a bad way.
Red gills, poor water quality, gill flukes.
If the fish was darting sounds like it could be gill flukes.
Gill flukes cause bacterial infections on top, as in the hooks of the fluke they carry a nasty bacteria that enters the fish blood stream when they peirce the skin.

Do the gills resemble a hamburer to you as hard to say by the pic.
