Not really diy but cheap,
I was at my local supermarket today and saw some large tupperware boxes.
Ideal for that temp home if disaster strikes, they were about 3 to 4 uk gallon, square with clear sides, spot on for floating in the main tank and still seeing whats going on.
A quick cheap fix.only £1.50 each under $3. Better than a bucket!

:) I use large ones (as well as bins) as grow-out tanks for gouramies. They're great and cheap.

Excellent fry containers Quint. I use anything and everything when breeding Killi's, even down to the plastic trays you get your chinese meals in. Margarine tubs, plastic biscuit boxes, ice cream tubs, they all have their uses.
