Hey, i currently have a 10 gallon and a 30 gallon freshwater aquariums. My plan is to convert both to live plants and more realistic than what i began with. I plan on starting small with the 10 gallon first then once i get flourishing plants and a healthy aquarium i will begin on my 30 gallon.

I have some questions though and help would be appreciated.

1) I need a book/online instruction manual with help for starting plants. I found this, a book that i might order. Aquarium Plant Paradise Anyone know of anything better i should consider?
2) I'm buying some conditioners such as AquaSafe but i'm also in need of a test kit. What is a good, multipurpose test kit for tropical tanks?
3) There's a bubble-like, saliva looking bacteria/algae on the surface of my tank, what can i do to get rid of it?
4) I also plan on buying new Marineland BIO-Wheel systems for both, sound good?
5) My last question, does anyone have an online store of which you purchase your things for quality and price?

Thanks for the help,
Mitch

I wouldn't waste my money on books, because there is thousands of pages of information out there on the internet and all for free! :p Here's the page I looked at and used as a guideline to my 55 gallon planted aquarium: Planted Tank.

I never use BIO-Wheels in my aquarium "as the added air contact aids in CO2 loss." Which is bad for your plants. I would recommend you get a Fluval 104. One for your 10 gallon and another for your 30 gallon. Remember the more filtration the better! They are available for a very low price at Pet Solutions

I have always shopped for my plants @ Live Aquarium Plants and I always buy my equipment @ Pet Solutions.
Sorry can't help you with the rest :D Hoped I helped a little bit.

sorry about that, here it is again Aquarium Plants. These are the cheapest, best quality plants you can probably get in the USA. I like them because they always include a couple extra plants when I order. :D Sorry for the misunderstanding I meant another different filter for your 29, like a Fluval 204.
