My platy was very fat when I bought her, however, a few days home and I see no babies (I put her in a tank of her own with java moss), and her tummy is a little thinner though not totally flat she does not look as swollen as she did when I got her. So I'm thinking she aborted or absorbed her babies due to the stress.
Anyway, what I want to know is, does that mean she gets rid of all stored sperm inside her, such that she will need to mate again with a male in order to get pregnant? Or will she still be able to get pregnant without a male? If so, is there a time frame (e.g. 28 days from abortion)?
