justa quick question. I'm getting some java moss of someone, or if not ill buy some lol. Is it possible to make a bed out of canvass and sort of tie the javamoss on with string or wat ever. But will an oscar destroy it? or will it just be something he'll leave as it will be by the gravel.I do know about other plants but wasnt 100% about mosses. Also as i'm typing a mesage may as well include this. What min size plec would you put in a tank with an oscar or would you not risk it.I dont want a common or a bn.Something like a gold nugget or round those lines.

Thanks,Ben.

I have no experience with o's and moss, but I would assume if the o doesn't like it, it wuill destroy it as it would any other plant....

Whatever species you go for, make sure it will stay bigger than the o's mouth... even though they are armor plated, a small pleco could make a quick snack for a hungry o....

Ox :good:

I have java moss tied to some mangrove wood and my O' is fine with it. He isn't keen on any plant that sticks out of the ground (including plastic ones) although I have managed to keep one amazon sword going just about.

It all comes down to the ind. oscar. Mine is 10" and lives fine with a BN pleco. He does however hate plants, real or plastic and will tear up either.
