Hi, just got my moonlighting through the post (and my 2 new digital timers) and was wondering about how long I should have the moonlight on for. Should it be on the whole time that my main tank lighting isn't? Basically for the other 16 hours of the day/night?

No set time mate. I have my main lighting on for 8 hours aday on a digital timer and that goes off at 10pm then i have my moonlight come on from 10pm till 12pm just so i can watch the night fish i have for a couple hours befor i go to sleep. You really dont want to run it over night

I`ve been using the led red and white/blue lights and hub in the evenings and have just changed it for the single 1W LED which gives off a crisper nicer light. I have mine on for a couple of hours in the evening , i.e 9-11pm usually then switch it off when I go to bed.

Thanks guys. My tank's in my room so any light being on might be an issue any way I guess.

i don't like to leave my moonlights on any more than a couple of hours, the charger gets red hot.

I'm the same - I keep my moonlights on from 9 PM to 12 after the main light turns off, then 6 AM to 7:30 AM, before the main light turns on at 7:30.
