So, you think a Goldfish could stay in a tropical tank? My little sister has 2 goldfishes (those cheap 1 dollar ones,) and shes been raising them for about 3 months by now. She went from 8-2. (I blame the epidemic) What degree is good for the goldfishes?

My uncle has three huge goldfishes in his tropical 55g tank. (Big angelfish, three goldfish, one biiig blue gourami)

(My tank is around 78-82F)

In the lower end of tropical temperature and the upper end of cool water temperature, there is some overlap where compatibility, feeding, and size considerations come into play more than temperature. 80's a bit high, I think, but a more important point I think is that these are dollar goldfish. Those generally come from poor stock, are kept packed in poor conditions, and are sold basically on the expectation that they'll be doomed to death in improper housing/care, or that they'll just be used as feeders. Don't jeopardize your fish to try them out.

They were spread out into diff tanks with huge room with alot of ornaments. They were really happy.

Dont worry, no overstocked unhealthy tanks :D
