Quick Filter Question

What are the Rena Xp3 external power filters like to work with? Can they house a heater inside and do they normaly come ready to run with filter media and required pipes for a set up?

I like the XP3, though spares are not the easiest to come by.

There is no way of fitting a heater inside the filter as you will negate the seal and flood your room.

Best bet is to put a hydor external heater on the return to the tank, they work well and keep the heaters out of the tank

They come with all media and hoses and hard plastics

I have a bunch of XP2 and XP3s. I know they're not the top of the food chain, but for $75 for the xp2, it's hard to beat. I really like that they are interchangable. I keep a spare filter around in case something goes wrong with a "live" one. Never had a problem that wasn't related to it being horrifically dirty, but better safe than sorry.

Cheers guys, well ive ordered the tank and filter system but one thing puzzles me, the tank total volume is 379L and the volume capacity is 290L...... this info is from the the Rena web site http/www.rena.net/en_gb/products/aquariu...alife_birch.asp (corner 120). So how much water will the aquarium hold?
