My boyfriend bought a dalmatian molly a little while ago
but I noticed it had a few yellow/browny scales when he got it,
is this common and just in the colouring?
Or is it something I should be worried about

It doesn't show any obvious signs of illness in any other way

And also what would the fry be like if mating this with a Leopard Molly?

Preftec question, I was just about the ask the same! As my dalmation molly also has this. Arround the side of his head area, water stats are fine. Hes been like it since I had it (6 months) and never had any problems with him.

Ah ok, I saw a few like this in the shop so I guess it must just be their colours
at least I know she wont be passing on anything to the other fish,
I always test my water before getting anymore fish so I know its not something to do with my tank :D

I've had a few sets of Dalmation Mollies in the past and most have a bit of gold on them, its just part of their colouring. Its nothing to be worried about. Also this does not affect fry.

James.
