Fish Herder
I just got a brand new 55 gallon tank which I've been DYING to get for years.
I got a Magnum 350 Pro and a Penguin 350 power filter for it... lots of filtration.
I have some questions, and would really appreciate any answers.
Is regular gravel (like this) okay for plants or should I get gravel especially for planted tanks (like this)? The latter is pretty expensive but if it'd really make a difference, I'd get it.
I want to get keyhole cichlids. Does anyone know of anywhere online to get them? I can't find them anywhere.
I'd get like four of them, but if I ordered them (either online or special order from a pet shop) I'd have no way of sexing them. If I ended up with, say, 3 males and 1 female, or 3 females and 1 male, would it be a problem?
Would just getting two be a better idea?
How small of fish can I put in with keyholes without worrying about them getting eaten?
Lastly, the water in my house has a -lot- of iron in it. It makes our bathtub turn bright orange and all that. Is that bad for fish? We'll be moving in a few months to a place with public water, so if it'd be a problem I'd wait until then.
