Okay I had angels a LONG time ago, but I'm thinking about getting some. I'm going to buy a 25g-30g is that big enough for angels? it's going to be mid July until I get any fish or anything though. But any suggestions on what other fish I should put in there?

The gallon size is ok for a couple of angels, you need at least 18" of water depth. This means either a 25 or a 29. A 30 is to shallow, next standard size larger would be a 37 or 38.

I would go with a 29, as it is a more common, readily available size. The most adult angels you could safely keep in a tank that size would be 2. This http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=141494&hl= is what happens if you try to overstock with maturing angels.

I would start with 5 smaller angels in a 29, let a pair form, then sell the 3 unpaired fish. They will easily pay for the original 5, with some left over for a few additional fish.

As stated corys work well in a tank that size, bristlenose plecs, or most any of the livebearers work as well. A tri of guppys or platys in a complementary or contrasting color to the angels makes for a pleasing setup.

Thank you for the replies. I'm looking at cories now, and pricing 29g tanks.
