Ok I made a DIY backround yesterday for my fish tank using GE silicone 2 100 % silicone. I was wondering what type of glue can be used in a fish tank thats safe for the fish and also if I decide to silicone the backround to the tank glass would it be able to come back off with out hurting the tank and how would you get it off?

If it's not made for fish tanks it is usually extremely questionable to use in the aquarium. I know for sure that Hot Glue is safe to use in aquairums. However I am not certain about the silicone you used!

proper aquarium silicone is the safest way to go (the type which glues the tank walls together) as other glues might have toxins in. Aquarium silicone would work well for backgrounds

edit: bah, fishkies beat me to it

I have read some threads on this forum of people stating GE silicone 2 which is 100% silicone is ok to use besides aquarium silicone this is why i used it. :shout:

don't worry, ge silicone is known to be aquarium safe, as long as it's 100% silicone without additives.

well i went on ahead and siliconed the backround to the glass ill just cross the road of removing it if i ever do need to remove it when i get there thanx for the help every1. Ill be posting pics of my complete tank setup when done.
