i bought this berlin skimmer used today and have some quick questions about what does what.

sakimmer.jpg

i numbered the outlets/inlets for easy reference..here is what i know:

1) drain
2) drain
3) ??
4) pump input
5) optional second input (will cap off)

let me know if im right so far, and also what number 3 is for?!

also does anyone know the model/specs on this unit?

and what should i use as far as a pump, i have a maxijet 1200 and a mag drive available. or something else? thanks

Its a re-circulating skimmer ment to be run in-sump either directly off the overflow from the display tank or powered by a second pump. Here's what the numbers should read

1- drain
2- drain
3- re-circ pump outlet
4- re-circ pump inlet
5- supply line (either direct from overflow or powred by small secondary pump)

The knobs near the top of the skimmer are to control the water height inside the reaction chamber.

so youre saying that the pumps inlet would be attached to #3 and the pumps outlet would be attached to #4? then how would new water ge taken in? wouldnt it just keep skimming the same water over and over?

also, can you take a stab at the model of this berlin?

well it uses either two pumps or direct feeds from the overflow. one pump recirculates to create even finer bubbles and the other pump would supply it with water
