So im doing a "fish in" cycle... i know its bad but i was poorly advised and im stuck this way now.. im testing and changing water as needed... and i have this Stress coat stuff that removes chlorine from the tap water...

Im wondering how long before i add the "new" water to the thank i need to add this stress coat... does it have to be 24hrs... and also; if the chlorine reading is high from the tank can i add a few drops directly into the thank?

thanks.

thnk i understand the Q ( bit tired)

you can add the stress coat directly to he bucket of water and just treat the amount in the bucket OR you can add the rec dosage to the tank BUT then im pretty sure you need to treat the contents of the tank ( the whole amount of water)

if using this you can add the water diretcly from the tap, tho some leave buckets full overnight etc to reach room temp, or disperse the chlorine if they dont use declorinator

hope thats of help to u

I use stress coat and have used it both ways successfully. I usually fill a bucket of water, put a half-cap of stress coat in the bucket, then add the bucket to the tank. I have also put a capful in the tank itself if the fish seem erratic or stressed. I also put some in whenever I introduce a new fish to the tank.
