Question On My Fish

just got over a spike on the amonia ,but fish are stil rubbing tHERE gills along the gravel.is this anything to worry about

Can you post test results in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph, are the gills red and inflamed, are the fish laboured breathing, also how long has the tank been set up.

difficult to give amonia reading as we were advised to put ammolock in and reading has been high ever since,so therefore ammolock is doing its job.nitrite nitrate are spot on ph 7.4 so is okay.gills are not red or imflammed.tank has been set up for 5 weeks.

I would say the tank is still cycling and the bad water quality is irratating there gills, i would increase aeration in the tank.

we did do this when we had the spike and it did seem to make things better, we will continue this .thanks for the advice.glad to know we where doing the right thing
