Hi, Im new to the aquarium world :). I've had my tank set up for a few weeks and have now introduced a male siamese fighter into my tank along with a pleco (there getting along fine). I was looking around a fish store when i come across a really cute figure of eight puffer fish. Now i know there both aggressive fish but i really like the idea of having a puffer but i have no idea on how the Betta will get along with the puffer and vice versa (the puffer is a baby and small at the moment but will obviously get alot bigger so im not all to sure and seek advice). If anyone could let me know if it's an extremely bad idea to have these two together or not i would much appreciate your knowledge and time. Thankyou in Advance.

I don't know a lot about puffers, but I have seen others post about them mixed with bettas - and from what I can remember, people seemed to say it's not a very good idea because of their aggressiveness.

You'll want to set up a species tank for your puffers. They can help you out in the oddball section of the board. You'll also want to research figure eights and see what size tank they'll need for adult size, and you can go from there.

As already mentioned, you will not want to mix the betta with the puffer.
Welcome to the forum!!

Everything I've heard of Puffers is that they're fin nippers, which are always a HUGE no-no with Bettas.
