hi

I have this 5 gal tank for fry and emergencies, I was keeping my pregnant molly there but had to improvise a hood since she jumped out once, I only had a peace of glass laying in the house that fits almost perfectly on top of the tank, it covers like 120% of it, but I was wondering if I must leave a small portion uncovered for oxigen or something?

I know this sounds stupid but I just don't know this for sure!!! Should I completely cover the top???? or not??? :S

I doubt that it would seal to the point of not leaking at all. If you have heater wire or air line running into the tank, that should create a little crack, providing air circulation.

so would that little space be enough ??? ... I can see some condensation at the bottom of the glass-hood, is that normal ??? I think it is, but I'm just not so sure, sorry to sound like a complete idiot if this is common sense

That little space is plenty. I use plastic diffuser panels cut to size on many of my tanks, they have a little gap, & they get that same condensation.
