question on algae

i am going to america next week for 2 weeks and i was wondering if i left the light on in my tank for a bit longer every day and got some growing in there, would my mollies and guppies eat it?

i might be able to get my next door neighbour to come round and feed them once or twice, but i'm just curious.

Well, i don't think that is really necessary, with your neighbour feeding them and all. Just make sure he doesnt feed too much as you wont be there to do water changes.

leave lights off, open a shade, they can get effects of day and night from there. lights on for 2 weeks will cause more harm. IMO
