question for rose

hey rose, i need some plant suggestions for a bat fish. it says that they like to "climb" the plants to the surface of the tank and when they are upside down will let go and float upside down to the floor again.

any ideas?

Good question. Tell the truth I have no idea at this point in the game. I'll have to do some research on both the fish and on some plants. May take a few days but I'll let you know what I find out. If I haven't posted an answer by next Monday give me a reminder K.

Could you give me all the stats on your tank....things like fish, ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, size, filter, lighting, wattage, water change schedule, what you have for a substrait, tank get natural light, and what ever else you can think of. The bettr picture you give me of your tank and set up the better I can find plants that will fit your needs better. Thanks Rose

the tank is a 40 gallon high, sand substrate, 2 powerheads, whisper filter (for now). my ph stays a constant 7.0 and i am planning on doing daily water changes of 10%. the tank does get natural light, the morning sun mostly. also going to put lights on the tank til 7 pm.

As far as I can tell just about any plant would do for your guy. Only problem is the sand in your tank. Plants don't do too well in sand. As the tank gets older the more compact the sand will become and the harder it will be for the plants to grow.

Some plants you could use are any of the crypts (like the wendtii), swords, java fern and java moss, wisteria, water sprite, jungle vals. there are many others you can use as well. Hope this helps. Rose
